Password resets scenarios for end user and administrator of SDS IAM & EMM Portal
[Resolution]
Please see the steps below for each scenario
If you are an end-user:
- Contact your IT admin to reset your password.
If you are an IT Admin:
- Enter your User Name at Samsung SDS IAM & EMM Admin Portal.
- Attempt a wrong password.
- Press Next to try password again.
- Click on Forgot your password?.
- Choose your password reset method.
NOTE - If you do not see the option Forgot password?, you will need to create a support ticket to reset your password. Once the password is reset, you can enable the following policy:
- Click Policies
- Click Default Policy > Policy Settings > User Security Policies > Self Service
- For Enable account self service controls, select Yes.
- Tick the option Enable password reset .
- Select a Password Reset Authentication Profile from the list.
If you are an IT Admin and need to reset a users password
- In the Samsung SDS IAM & EMM Admin Portal, click Users.
- Select the user that requires a password reset and go to Actions > Set Password.
- Under Status, select Require password change at next login.
- Click Save.
- Provide the user with the new password. Note that the next time they login they will be prompted to select a new password
NOTE — IT admins can only create Samsung SDS IAM & EMM password reset options for cloud users.
IT admins can also create a policy which enables all Samsung SDS IAM & EMM cloud users to reset their passwords without assistance from the IT admin. All cloud users, including IT admins can reset their password without contacting Samsung Knox Support.
- In the Samsung SDS IAM & EMM Admin Portal
- Go to Policies.
- Click Add Policy Set.
- Go to Policy Settings > User Security Policies > Self Service.
- For Enable Account Self Service Controls, select Yes.
- Tick the option, Enable Password Reset.
- Select a Password Reset Authentication Profile from the list.
- Click Save.
NOTE — To allow Active Directory users to reset their Samsung SDS IAM & EMM passwords, tick the option Allow for Active Directory users.
